I really don’t have a point today.

I love this time of year. The trees are beginning to green up. The grass is beginning to sprout. The Redbuds are in bloom and are so beautiful and pink it almost makes your eyes hurt.

One of the things I HATE about this time of year is the time change. I mean what’s wrong with just leaving stuff the way it is? Why is it necessary to screw with my life by moving the time up an hour? Now move it back, and thereby give me an additional hour to sleep, I’m all over that.

This weekend we went to the Medieval Fair. The GirlChild and I had our hair braided by a woman there. It was a totally frivioulous purchase, and a good eyebrow wax and a manicure would have probably been a much better purchase, but it was fun. The GirlChild did hers inpigtails and I had mine done like hers, except I had the ends put into a bun. I took a bunch of pictures that you can see on Flickr on the off chance I could do this myself, I’d remember what it was suppose to look like.

I’ve decided the BoyChild is afraid of crowds. Is that normal behavior for a three year old almost four? He pulls away. Tries to get away from the crowds and gets irritable and cranky. Hhhhmmmm.

I’m making great progress on the stocking. I’m almost finished with the water, and by almost finished, I mean I’ve probably got a weeks worth of work the way I do it. I’ve not yet decided what to do about the wreath. It just cries out for french knots in some kind of overdyed and something sparkley and some red dots but I’m not sure what to do. I got some Needle Necessities overdyed floss for it originally but I’m not sure there is enough color changes for the wreath. Anyone have any suggestions.

I’ve been enjoying stitching with the perle cotton more than I anticipated. I’ve never used perle cotton much on canvas. I use to use it on 18 hpi over two in cross stitch and it seemed like it frayed a lot. I’ve been very happy with the way it looks and it’s a joy to stitch with.

More later. Maybe I’ll have a point then.

Lovely hair! Wish I could French braid – alas I cannot. My oldest used to be quite skittish in crowds at that age. Imagine you are butt-height to almost everyone in a large crowd, rather disconcerting! Hopefully he will improve as he gets taller, I know my daughter did.

We really wanted to take the boys to the Fair, but we had two soccer games and couldn’t swing it. But! Next year! And maybe I will let my hair grow for the braiding . . .

I am teaching my husband to french braid my hair, but he hates it so it never gets done. I can’t seem to figure it out on my own, using my only functional hand. Maybe I can teach my three year old :)

By the way, my three year old loves people. she used to be afraid and act all shy until we put her in preschool. It really opened her up.
