I finished my first week of training for my Half-Marathon. I now have an “official” schedule, created by a personal trainer, just for me!
She asked me a few questions, and then sent me this seven page document with what I need to do every day between now and the HM in February 2012, including strength training and stretching exercises.
I will admit when I first looked at the training schedule I was a bit intimidated. Actually when I looked at it I thought, “holy shit! I can’t possibly do all this!” and then I hyperventilated for awhile.
But like many things in life, while the whole looked intimidating, when I looked at what I needed to do tomorrow, I thought “I can do that.” So, while today I can’t run 11 miles I can run the 2 1/2 miles called for on my schedule and the 11 miles will come.
Is that some kind of metaphor for life?
