Another week down

May 25th, 2011 · No Comments · Weight Loss Journey, Weight Watchers

Last night we had terrible weather.  Terrible, even by our standards, and the tornado season.

Since the Governor sent the state employees home at 3:00 (that was bad I tell you) they sent everyone home at my office too.

I went home, changed my clothes and went for a run.  The storms were terrible, 30 miles away, but they’d not yet reached my house.  I looked at the weather guys freaking the hell out and decided I had 30 minutes or more.

I’m on my run and I’ve even begun the run back toward my house when the tornado sirens went off.  This, in and of itself isn’t a BIG deal.  It wasn’t even raining.  As I was running home,  I pass this house with a group of 20-somethings on the porch.  One of them yells at me, “mamam.”  I pop my ear buds out of my ears and stop.  And he says, “did you know the sirens were going off?”  I wasn’t sure what annoyed me the most about that encounter.  That a 20-something called me “mamam” or that he thought I was so deaf and dumb that I couldn’t hear the eardrum splitting tornado sirens.

Anywhoo.  I’m down another .8 pounds this week.  Not a great loss but a loss nonetheless.

To sum up for anyone keeping track at home, I’m down 19.6 since I joined Weight Watchers on 03/16/2011 or 33 pounds since I started keeping track on 02/04/2010.
