Yesterday was weight in day at Weight Watchers.  I did not go with high expectations.  It had been a long holiday weekend  that included company, Easter egg Snickers, (best things evah! and 4 pluspoints) Hostess Powdered Sugar covered mini-donuts and two days of not working out.

I lost 4.8 pounds!

Damn people, I’ve lost 25.6 pounds!

Here’s the breakdown.

I started on 2/2/11 and dieted on my own.  So, my scales say I’ve lost 25.6 since 2/2/2011.

I started Weight Watchers on 03/16/2011.  I’ve lost 13.4 since then.

I’ve been working out at the health club.  I ran 2.29 miles on the treadmill in 38 minutes last night.  You know what?  For me?  I think that is phenomenal!

I’m nearly 50 years old.  I’m overweight.  But I ran, without stopping for 28 minutes!  I go to the health club and walk on the treadmill for 5 minutes, I crank the speed up to 3.7 mph run for 28 minutes and then do a cool down for 5 minutes.  That’s measurable progress.  Something I can actually look back at and SEE.

I’m doing the Couch Potato to 5K.  Week one I did a 5 minute warm up walk, run for 60 seconds, walk for 90 seconds for 20 minutes and a five minute cool down.

I didn’t write about that much.  What do you say after you say, “man that shits hard!” But those first weeks were hard.  It seemed like the first day of a new circuit would completely kick my ass.  And now I run for 28 minutes without stopping.

I’m loving the new Weight Watchers PointsPlus plan.  It’s working for me.  It’s doable.  Recently, as I was eating a meal, I actually thought, “this is a sustainable way of life, not just a diet, but a way to live.”  I’m rarely hungry.  I have been eating healthy.  But I’ve had the occasional nachos, donuts or Easter egg snickers bars.

This has been a good week!
