You Want Whine With That?

August 25th, 2004 · 1 Comment · Photos

I was feeling whiney today.

I hate my job. I don’t make enough money and am underappreciated.

My baby has started school.

My husband had to go back to work today at a job where he doesn’t make enough money and is underappreciated.

Blah, blah, blah.

Until lunch time.

I called the GranMa to see how the BoyChild’s first day, at his first school, and his first shot at any kind of organized day care had gone.

It didn’t go well.

Some little two year old tackled him, put him in a headlock and bit him on the cheek. Not an auspicious beginning to his higher learning experience.

I was driving down the street when I learned of this horrible turn of events. My eyes filled with tears and thought I was going to puke in the seat.

The BoyChild didn’t seem any the worse for having his cheek almost bitten off. It didn’t break the skin. He talked about his “buse” and tonight said it “hrt.” I think he may have been telling us about when it happened. He let me kiss it to make it better and said “thank you!” when I did.

I was relieved to see he did seem o.k. I called and talked to his teacher. The other student has been expelled for a couple of months. She was really upset and said the little boy’s mother offered to call me and apologize. I told her if it would make her feel better she could but it wasn’t necessary.

I almost feel sorry for the little hellion. Almost being the key word there.

I came back in time to see the bite–holy moly, Batman! And the kicker is that you’ve got one cute CUTE kid there, lady.

But that ‘buse’ makes me want to cry. Yikes.

Okay, now I’m ready for the first day of school . . .
