Random Christmas Thoughts

December 25th, 2008 · 2 Comments · Family Life

  1. The guy who wore black and Christmas red plaid pants to church last night.  Whoever told you that was a good look.  They lied.
  2. The woman who thought putting the baby carrier in the aisle during communion while the hundred fifty thousand people are trying to go up and down the aisle.  That was just rude and selfish.  Those things fit perfectly in the pew.  I know I had one just like it.
  3. The woman who wore the shiny, purple, mini-skirted, baby-doll, halter top dress with three inch spiked heels.   Just what were you thinking?  That look  might be appropriate to go clubbing.  But to go to church  and chase a toddler up and down the aisles?  I really had no desire to see that much of you.
  4. The people who bring kids under about the age of five to church.  What is wrong with you?  That two year old isn’t getting anything out of the service and neither are you.   They are just bothering everyone with their screaming and whining and carrying on.  There’s a thing called child care the church provides for free.  If you don’t know the people there taking care of the kids well enough to leave your child there.  Perhaps you aren’t coming enough.
  5. The woman who wore the shiny, black, mini-skirted, baby doll, halter top dress with three inch spiked heels.  Please see item three above.
  6. The choir.  It sounded lovely.  Especially when the Children’s choir sang Silent Night.  It brought a lump to my throat and almost made me weep it was so lovely.  And it wasn’t because my kids were singing.
  7. Guitar hero appears to be highly overrated.
  8. Nintendo DS is da bomb.  I wish Santa had brought me one too.  Did you know those things will talk to one another and two people can play the same game?  I remember when I thought Pong was da bomb.
  9. Merry Christmas everyone!

I know you weren’t talking about me, per item #4, but I must say in response that perhaps the childs grandparents insisted that the baby MUST come to church and the parents, living in another town, might not have felt comfortable having a stranger watch their child, alone, in a room far from the eyes of the reluctant parent. ( Umm…yeah…I was the mom in #4 at my parents church, but there was NO childcare available and the church bulletin said “CHILDREN WELCOME & LOVED IN THE SERVICE!!!”)

We also had the shiny, halter-topped, baby-doll mini-dress woman in our service. She was very … breasty. And she leaned over a lot while serving communion. The kids wanted to know why she didn’t put a dress over her slip. :)
