Happy Easter!

March 23rd, 2008 · No Comments · None

Easter morning here was pretty low key.

Yesterday I took the BoyChild with me to my office so I could get some work done. David went to the Dollar Tree/Family Dollar/Dollar General or some store with Dollar in the name and loaded up on things that aren’t candy for the kids baskets.

Since the BoyChild can’t have jelly beans or chocolates or those little peeps, we had to rely on toys. There were transformers which we love in our house almost as much as we love those little Hot Wheels cars. There were puzzles, “the HUNDRED piece kind, Mom!” observed the BoyChild. There were coloring books and crayons. Oh god please don’t make me regret that purchase the way I regretted the markers purchase. And there was a plastic egg or two filled with one toy or another.

The GirlChild got a similar basket, though she is a little old for the Easter Bunny, with appropriate items in it. She was spectacularly unimpressed and then when the hatefulness and rudeness began, I sent her to her room and told her not to come out for the rest of the day. When is that child going to learn? She is out of school tomorrow. When she could be talking on the telephone or going somewhere with her friends. Instead, she’ll probably be stuck in her room.

I have CLE material due April 1 so I’m stuck at my office.

Happy Easter Everyone!
