Is this weird?

March 2nd, 2008 · 5 Comments · Profound Thoughts, Weirdness

O.K. folks.

Tell me if this is weird.

When we went to see Enchanted, they gave us free passes because the movie went off two or three times while it was showing.   These passes have no expiration date and are not just for the matine which is where we got them.

I’m finding it difficult to actually USE these free passes.  Is that weird?

I keep thinking I need to “save” them.  I’m not entirely sure exactly what for.  But I keep thinking, “the movie is only $3.50” I should save those passes for if I want to go to an evening movie.

So?  How weird is that?

That’s it exactly, Cyn! It’s that saving it for something special. If I’m going to the movies anyway, is it any more SPECIAL if I pay for it out of my check book or I use a movie pass? I donno. Sometimes I just think I’m being weird.

I have a movie gift certificate in my purse that has been there, um, three years now. No movie is special enough. Or no movie that I want to see at *that* theatre. I don’t know. It’s complicated. But yeah, I do it too.

I’ve done that with movie passes, too. I keep waiting for something that *must* be seen on the big screen (like a period piece with great cinematography). Trouble is, movies like that don’t come along often!

I just used a g/c to buy a dress for my daughter to wear to be in my brother’s wedding. The g/c was for something I returned that was given to me as a wedding gift….. six years ago.

I can’t explain it but you aren’t alone….. and I’m sure there is a clinical term for it.
