Yesterday the BoyChild got into some high-fructose corn syrup. We won’t go into how *I* let that get by me. I feel guilty enough about it as it is.
Last night I was laying in bed with him about 9:45. He couldn’t go to sleep. And he’d been in beed since a little after 8:00.
He’d been in trouble off and on all afternoon; hitting, name calling, yelling, inappropriate language etc. While I know these behaviors are caused by something he ate, we still have to enforce a basic level of behavior.
At one point while we were laying there, he hit himself in the middle of the forehead with his fist. Hard. When I asked what he was doing, he said he was trying to make his brain stop spinning around in his head.
I asked him what that was like, and he told me that his brain spins, there is a noise in his head and after awhile, it makes his head hurt.

Now I’m picturing the Boy Child with one of those phweeeeee! spinners that are popular on New Years Eve in his noggin.
Poor BoyChild. Poor Mom.

oh poor sweet pea…..as my sister recovers from her cancer surgery and undergoes chemo she has found that anything with high fructose corn syrup makes her really sick—-so now we’re becoming more aware of how prevalent it is….amazing….
